Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Life is like a tapestry, where the finished side reveals a beautifully planned masterpiece, and the underside is a jumble of knots, loose threads, and chaotic colors-and we live on that underside! From the underside, life can seem meaningless, even hopeless. But what if we could catch a glimpse at the other side? What if the Maker allowed us to see the masterpiece that He had in mind? Through the lens of Paul's letter to the Ephesians, God Is at Work explores the tapestry of life where grace, servanthood, and the sovereignty of God intersect. Author Dr. Will Thomas seeks to explore the contents of the apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians, with special emphasis on context and application. Many examinations of the New Testament are very good at taking the material apart and examining in detail each verse and/or words, but this examination seeks to take a broader view that relates the contents to the overall theme and purpose of the letter. Paul weaves the three themes of grace, servanthood, and the sovereignty of God together to form a multi-textured tapestry of faith that is both highly practical and rich in doctrine and inspiration. Further contemplation of the message of Ephesians reveals many of the key issues that Christians and the Church face in the twenty-first century. Thus, God Is at Work seeks to emphasize the application of the letter to contemporary life, especially the life of the Church as the body of Christ. Admire, study, and grasp the ebb and flow of Paul's teachings through this eye-opening work by Dr. Thomas. Will Thomas (DMin, Northern Baptist Seminary) is an adopted son of the Lone Star State. He has worked as a pig farmer, construction worker, campus minister, pastor, church planter, college professor, and newspaper columnist. He even spent time on the dark side as a dreaded telemarketer and as a struggling Aflac agent. On the brighter side, Will is the author of six books and hundreds of magazine articles in dozens of publications, including Christianity Today, Eternity, His, Christian Standard, The Disciple, and many others, in addition to the widely read Chicken Soup for the Soul series. Unknown to most, Will plays a six-eight power forward for the Dallas Mavericks--in his dreams.
