Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In the glamorous big-money world of horse shows in the 1960s, two brothers are riding high. Morgan Caine is a war hero, a respected businessman. His older brother Cyrus learned his craft in the prison yard and the mean streets of Chicago's West Side. Known for his sharp trades and brutal tactics, Cyrus becomes the ringleader of the "Horse Mafia," a man so dangerous even the Chicago Mob gives him a wide berth. The Caines build a thriving industry selling overpriced horses to the innocent daughters of the moneyed elite. Over time the rivalry between the two brothers deepens and festers until one of them puts out a contract on the other. What follows is one of the most sensational murder trials of the 20th century. But that is not the end of the Caine saga. What would cause one brother to murder another? Was it jealousy? A business rivalry? Or was it the love of the same woman that sealed their fate? Michael Springer grew up outside Chicago and attended Lake Forest Academy and Northwestern University. Following a series of careers as a screenwriter, editor and publisher, he has begun a new chapter as a novelist. He and his wife Susan divide their time between southwest Florida and the south of France. UNBRIDLED is the first book in a planned trilogy about the deadly Equestrian Mafia of Chicago.
