Deep within the archipelago a mutiny is brewing-a hurricane on the verge of landfall... Cyrus Pryce is a young blacksmith apprentice on the tranquil island of Domortis. After spending a week of vacation in his hometown of Casan, Cyrus returns to the bustling city of Purcas, energized to continue his blacksmith training. Upon arriving, his life takes a horrific turn when he witnesses the death of a friend at the hands of ruthless pirates. Spotted by the merciless marauders, Cyrus is kidnapped and taken aboard the Cassandra, a mysterious pirate ship owned by the shady figure Sandian Bullock. Alone and afraid, Cyrus's fate hangs in the balance as the pirate vessel flees his home island and into the treacherous waters of the Marian Sea. As the Cassandra navigates the precarious ocean, the pirate vessel is attacked by the Pulchra Princess and the Malevolent Mercenary, two formidable raider ships on an important quest to find a concoction to cure a disastrous disease that is eradicating their home island. The Cassandra falls, and Cyrus is taken aboard the Princess. Thrust into the fabled world of piracy, Cyrus must join Kaija McCloud, the intuitive owner of the Princess, and her cousin Jim Robertson, the powerful captain of the Mercenary, on a mission to save their island from a devastating sickness with a harrowing source.
