Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"Now that I no longer desire all, I have it all without desire."The Dark Night of the Soulis a spiritual masterpiece of Christian mysticism and a classic of Christian literature. Written by the 16th-century Spanish mystic and poet, St. John of the Cross, after he endured persecution and imprisonment for his efforts to help St. Teresa of Avila reform the Carmelite order, he constantly demonstrated his love for God both in his writings and in his life. His thoughts on man's relationship with God places him on both an intellectual and philosophical level with the great writers, St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas. In this remarkable book, he addresses several subjects, including pride, avarice, envy, and other human imperfections. He also delves into the deeper purposes behind the spiritual droughts that challenge even the most devout believers and how they are designed to deepen and mature our relationship with God.This timeless classic is a profound meditation on darkness, despair, and the soul's eventual renewal through divine love and grace.
