Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

You will learn to think like a geologist. Geology is more than looking at rocks. Geologists learn about the present-day Earth and use those observations and interpretations to figure out Earth's past, learn about how Earth affects people, and make predictions about Earth's future. In this book you will learn how to apply the process of science to learn about our planet and follow the themes of plate tectonics, the rock cycle, and the water cycle throughout the book.Focus on Geology is written and designed with student learning in mind. This book is based on research on how students learned best. The authors combine cognitive psychology and education research findings with their experience of researching geologic misconceptions and teaching hundreds of introductory geoscience courses. Students learn fundamental geoscience concepts better from this book than traditional textbooks.
