Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Teacher, the child in front of you and the child you once were want to chat.We rely on teachers of young children to wear many hats. They are educators, even if their role title is "family child care provider" or parents call them a "babysitter." In addition to being teachers, we ask these early-years educators to be social workers, nurses, and sometimes family counselors. They help guide the most crucial years of development for becoming a decent human being.Young children need teachers knowledgeable in the science of child development, skilled at interpersonal interaction, and talented in the art of teaching. Young children need educators who are mentally and physically healthy, to support them as they develop. This pioneering book brings teachers new awareness about essential social and emotional milestones, the 7 Childhood Treasures. From the foundation of five Cornerstone Strategies in the Seek Sparkle & Shine Plan, early-years professionals will arrive at the last page with two dozen shiny teaching tools.Of even greater impact, they will see the brightly colored lines that connect the child they once were to the children in front of them every day. Once those connections are made, the children AND the teacher will shine!
