Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The second novel in the Rolly Waters mystery series. When nesting grounds at the Border Field Park bird preserve are torn to shambles by eco-vandals, Rolly Waters is hired to follow the tracks left behind. Feeling less than optimistic about nabbing the perpetrators, he begins his due diligence, crossing paths with a local border vigilante, a tormented vaquero, and an aging rock groupie. A menacing house call from a scalpel-wielding orderly in pursuit of a prostitute named after an 80's pop hit confounds Rolly's case even further. When police detective Bonnie Hammond hands him a coroner's report, he knows it's turned deadly. This rollicking Southern California crime novel merges old-school detective story-telling with contemporary issues of immigration, political extremism, and the idiosyncrasies of playing the blues. A cozy hero living in a noir world, Rolly Waters struggles with his identity as a former musician as he attempts to recover from his rock and roll past. A colorful cast of local characters fleshes out this engaging mystery, which takes Rolly and the reader on a fast-paced ride through a dangerous underworld of record company intrigues, video games, international sex trafficking, and murder.
