High up on the slopes of the Mount of Olives outside the city of Jerusalem stands a beautiful olive grove. Nestled deep in the midst of the grove, tall and elegant, towers an ancient tree. Grand Papa Oliver has been part of this grove since he was a young sapling, well over two thousand years ago. He is the oldest and most revered tree in all the grove, yet the wisest and most adored amongst his companions. For many a year, the old tree has watched the activities in the bustling streets below. There is no one better to recount the wondrous tales of the bygone years to the ears of his eager listeners. Each day the young saplings crowd around eager to hear tales from long ago. Grand Papa Oliver delights his young listeners with stories of the important role he played in past celebrations and appointed feasts. Thousands flocked to Jerusalem to celebrate the pilgrim feasts, and many took refuge from the cold night air under his branches.Join Grand Papa Oliver as he recounts the events of the Great Feast and imagine as Temple priests perform their religious acts and celebrate with the crowds of pilgrims.Children and adults alike will enjoy the journey through one of God's appointed feasts, the ancient Jewish Feast of Tabernacles or Succoth, in this fresh and novel retelling of the traditions that can teach us so much.
