"Opening ... to it All" like Satsara's previous books, is a poetic journey of self inquiry. His poems are almost always "scribbled down" spontaneously in the pre dawn hours, when he is in the natural flow of this self-inquiry. This process feels to him like a rapturous dance with the Divine essence of his heart. In the recording of these moments, it is as if he is speaking, one to one, with the true friend of his heart. He hopes that the reader will resonate with the poems as if he is quietly whispering them, via the reader's eyes and ears, and entering directly into a communication with their heart. This process of self inquiry is really a non-teaching. It is a practice which is really a letting go of all practices. It was gifted to the world by the great Indian sage, Sri Ramana Maharshi. It was passed via W H Poonja (Papaji), a disciple of Ramana, to Gangaji who returned from India in the early 90's to give this "teaching" to the west via retreats and by holding Satsang (Association with the Truth)Satsara continues in this tradition via his poetry. "Opening" began its life in the soft afterglow of a retreat he attended with Gangaji. It was revealed to him that whatever is here, is not lesser than, or more than, it is simply here. In the light of this, whatever feelings and emotions arose in the writer or that arise in the reader, they too are simply present, and may be acknowledged as attending.Satsara's poems exude a particular devotion reminiscent of the Sufi tradition so well known, loved and revered in the poetry of Rumi. They are both poets of the heart. Satsara suggests that everything is a reflection, so that his poems will be a reflection back to you, the reader, for you would not have been drawn to them if they are not strangely reflective of the reader's own heart. This book of poems is like an intimate conversation between friends of the heart. This is what true friends offer to one another. The Self sends us the friend, and the friend refers us back to the Self!
