Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

This stunningly designed volume contains 40 moving and comforting prayers of peace, each with its own introduction that expands on the prayer's themes. All these prayers and reflections were broadcast on BBC Radio 4's much-loved, early-morning spiritual slot, Prayer for the Day, and each one is introduced by a well-known member of the faith communities. The book takes a multi-faith approach, with meditations on peace from the different Christian denominations, as well as from Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist contributors. This is a timely contribution for today's troubled world, and one that will resonate with the Christmas season of peace in which it is published. The book is divided into four chapters exploring the different aspects of peace: ; Peace in our blessings ; Peace in the world; Peace in our lives; Peace in our hearts. The collection is given additional authority and interest by a foreword from the prominent peacemaker Terry Waite. This is a special gift edition of a selection of prayers previously published in Watkin's 2014 collection of BBC scripts, Prayer for the Day.
