Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Written by renowned author Nigel Nicholson - who served in the Grenadier Guards in the war, this official history is a quite outstanding example of the genre. The first volume tells the story of the campaigns in north-west Europe, in which four Battalions of the Regiment took part, beginning with the battles fought during the retreat to Dunkirk in 1940, and ending with the advance into the heart of Germany in 1945.The second volume tells the story of the Grenadiers' campaigns in the Mediterranean from the Mareth Line to the Austrian frontier, between 1942 and 1945. This is volume one of the two-volume set.
