Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Part of the acclaimed "Special Campaign" series of works intended for serious professional students of military history each volume is interspersed with strategical and tactical comments and illustrated by numerous sketches. The Russo-Turkish War of 1877 was a quick but successful war initiated by Russia. It was one of the few offensive wars in which Russia had a unifying purpose. In this case, Russia was fighting to secure the rights of Armenians and Christians in the Muslim Ottoman Empire, who were victims of racist or religion based atrocities. There were several major battles in the war, but it was a fairly swift victory for Russia.
