Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A rich harvest of poetry from a life lived in many walks. This Collected Poems by Miles Burrows spans decades, from 1966 to 2021, offering a diverse range of styles and subjects. Burrows' poems are conversational, inviting readers into exclusive spaces and social strata, often exploring the feeling of being out of place. He blends personal experiences with cultural observations, creating a unique perspective on the human condition. From his early work discovered by Tom Maschler to his later reflections on medicine, travel, and intellectual pursuits, Burrows' poetry is both humorous and poignant. His long narratives, such as his time as a trawlerman in Iceland and a funeral in Taiwan, vividly depict worlds made real through his unique lens. This collection is for readers who appreciate contemporary poetry that is both thought-provoking and deeply personal.
