Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In this Collection of Poems, Roselle Thompson uses her passion for the written word to educate, inspire and uplift others, by providing assertive perspectives on themes of Caribbean migration and its impact in the Diaspora in the UK. Via the many subjects presented in this Collection, Thompson celebrates memory or the act of remembering; as an essential element in migrants' survival strategies. In elevating the conversation around social justice, equality, education, and hope, Roselle Thompson endorses the migrants' existence as part of the fabric of British society. Her poems are insightful, sometimes provocative, inspiring, and provide essential perspectives, that offer a way to make sense of Caribbean migrants' experiences, whilst also serving as catalysts for change. This is also a book about Caribbeanness in Britain, about the ancestral joys, historical pains and present experiences that are sometimes pushed to the limit, which sing the blues in every key, and which Thompson so brilliantly uses to condense, as well as expand emotions.
