It is, however, a careful study, and is of great value in showing how sophisticated the 'natives' were at the time. The book contains much detail on the costume and clothing of the Irish in history and in the late eighteenth century. It also holds a description of the armour and weapons of the Irish. The author was a member of the Royal Irish Academy, and the original was published in Dublin. It is an excellent study of the Irish and their customs and style of clothing and weapons.
