Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The debut novel of B J Warrington sees diarist Sam Simkin in trouble. He has been dumped by the love of his life and thinks this reason enough to commit suicide. As he researches the things that flit above his horizon - almost anything, from the reproductive cycle of the seahorse to Robert Browning's poem Porphyria' Lover to how deaf people think and dream ... and lots lots more - he also becomes aware that he is ill and that his problems aren't necessarily his own fault. We follow Sam through his diary over the course of a year of his life. He reveals himself gradually as he socialises, works, goes to college and spends time reflecting in his room. But, is the person who writes the entries the same person you would expect to see if you actually met him? Anyone who has ever felt a little different, a little odd, a little bit like they don't quite fit, in fact anyone who has ever asked themselves "why?" should read this book.
