Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Through Gates of Splendour tells the inspiring story of five missionaries who were martyred in the jungles of Ecuador as they attempted to reach the local people with the gospel. In 1956 the world was stunned by a shocking event. 'Marj was standing with her head against the radio, her eyes closed. After a while she spoke: "They found one body."' Missionary history will never let us forget the five young American men savagely martyred by Auca Indians in the jungles of Ecuador as they attempted to reach them with the Word of God. In Through Gates of Splendour, Elisabeth Elliot, the widow of one of these men, records here the story of their courage and devotion to Christ in the face of danger and difficulty. The challenge of their expendability for God continues as strong today as it was at the time of their death. Through Gates of Splendour: Will inspire your faith journey as you discover the courageous story of five men who dedicated their lives to God Tells the incredible testimonies of Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Roger Youderian, Ed McCully and Pete Fleming Is a powerful and fascinating insight into missionary life Is ideal reading for those who have been inspired by Shadow of the Almighty and End of the Spear Makes an inspirational gift for anyone who loves to read Christian biographies
