Originally published in 1904 from articles written for 'Celtic Monthly', R. S. T. MacEwen's clan history controversially conflated the histories of several families of the Scottish surnames MacEwan, McEwan, MacEwen, McEwen, Ewan, Ewans, Ewen and Ewing.
