The letter to the Hebrews, primarily written to Christian Jews, is of significant interest to the Christian Church, due to scholarship's acknowledgement as the finality of Christian revelation. To reflect upon its content should be of considerable interest to Christians, sometimes labelled as "Judeo-Christian". The author's detailed exegetical analysis of the letter refutes such a label. Whilst acknowledging, genealogically, Jesus was of Jewish origin, it doesn't negate that He alone established the Christian Church. He alone is the Christ and Saviour. Thus, Disciples of Jesus are solely "Christians" and should not be given labels which detract from that truth. Accordingly, for Christians to be pigeon-holed with the term "Judeo-Christian" is an anomaly and an afront, for it suggests the break with the Old Testament has not progressed, supressing and even negating Jesus' Person and Work.
