Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Family involvement is critical to the success of young children in early learning environments and beyond.Families come in many forms, reflecting varied ethnicities, cultures, belief systems, and family structures. When educators acknowledge, respect, and value those differences, welcoming families as partners in their children’s learning and members of the classroom community, children are more likely to succeed—in early education and beyond. In this collection of articles from Young Children and Beyond the Journal, the authors address topics such as sharing the care of infants and toddlers, conferencing with families, acknowledging culture and promoting inclusion, and helping families to support learning at home. The book includes a list of key resources as well as questions and activities designed to aid readers in reflecting on the articles. This volume is part of NAEYC’s best-selling Spotlight series—great resources for the college classroom and for staff development.
