Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In this second volume of personal reflections by Men and Women of Parapsychology, Rosemarie Pilkington has asked some brilliant, talented people who have spent most of their lives exploring the mysteries of consciousness why they entered the realm of parapsychology, why they persisted in investigating it even though they might be ridiculed or ostracized by many mainstream scientists, and what advice they have for young people entering the field. They are Mary Rose Barrington, Eberhard Bauer, William Braud, Stephen Braude, Richard S. Broughton, Larry Dossey, Sally Rhine Feather, Erlendur Haraldsson, Arthur Hastings, Stanley Krippner, Lawrence LeShan, Roger Nelson, John Palmer, Guy Lyon Playfair, William G. Roll, Serena Roney-Dougal, Stephan A. Schwartz, Rex G. Stanford, Russell Targ, Charles T. Tart, and Walter von Lucadou."This long-awaited second volume is as compelling and satisfying as the first, as likely to inspire a new generation of investigators, writers, and supporters of our still difficult, still challenging science...One wonderful difference is the length: there are 19 autobiographical essays and two interviews... The writers in the second volume are a more diverse lot than those included in the first... We are five-year-old Larry Dossey, nonplussed by the work of a curandera who saves a calf from screwworms on his father's farm. We are high-energy graduate students Stanley Krippner and Arthur Hastings, heading out on a road trip to investigate a poltergeist for J. B. Rhine... We are Serena Roney-Dougal in Dharmsala, listening to the wisdom of the Dalai Lama, and... We are MIT undergraduate Charles Tart, getting his first $100 grant from Eileen Garrett so he could conduct one of his first Out-of-Body (OBE) experiments. Enjoy this collection of essays and interviews. Just as she did in the first volume, Pilkington has given us a feast of lives. It's a wonderful meal."- from the Foreword by Nancy L. Zingrone, PhD
