I, Gioconda, have read the poems to Simonetta Vespucci, the 63 love poems that Francisco wrote. I am in awe of their mystery, but I too would have crossed through time and space for someone who could leave my lips with the taste of honey in his poems. I wonder if others will fall in love with Simonetta Vespucci when they read Francisco's poems. But I know she will listen to no other. Just as she found her painter, I think that now, centuries later, she found her poet.
