Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Jethro Mullins isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Lucky me, DA Jameson assigns me the unenviable task of defending the lovesick hothead. Seriously, how do you justify the indefensible action of firebombing your neighbor's trailer?Fine, the extra work will keep me from lamenting my decision to blow up the promising relationship I had with Patrick.I run into Chuck Davis. Yuck. He's in the middle of a divorce and dating a woman who looks like she still attends high school. Not that it's any of my business. He wants to hire me as his divorce attorney. I'm flattered, but with his resources, he should be able to hire a much more seasoned lawyer. His offers are tempting, yet there's something "off" about Chuck.Dusty has the paranormal team on furlough while he gets his procrastinating self into high gear. He has only days to submit a finished novel to his editor or face severe fines per his contract.Liza lets it slip at dinner that Miles, Luis, and she are traveling to Kentucky to scope out a candidate site for the next book. I need all the work I can get, so I don't have time to wallow in my self-pity. I volunteer to accompany them. That's right, I volunteered. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Whoever said that first must know my pain. What I expect to be a joyride to Kentucky and a couple of days worth of hiking in a cave becomes more than I bargained for as yet another paranormal "gift" reveals itself. A "gift" Nana warns me is too dangerous to use.I can't stop the powerful magic from happening randomly on its own accord. I'm afraid I will be lost forever...
