Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

These thirty poems do not explain.

They do not comfort before the comfort is earned.

They witness what is real in the life you are actually living - the noise, the waking, the becoming, and the quiet that was always there beneath everything you were told to want.

Most poetry tells you what to feel. Awake in a World Asleep does something rarer. It stays with what is actually there - the unnamed restlessness, the moments of unexpected clarity, the slow recognition that the story you were handed was never the whole story.

These are poems for the reader who is done pretending that the surface is enough. Who senses that something quieter and more honest is available - if they slow down long enough to hear it.

This is the second volume in the Alavida Poetry Series, following Stories in Rhyme. Each book stands alone. Together they form a body of work that witnesses the full range of what it means to be awake in a world that rewards sleep.
