Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Theology comes alive when it engages the world, and the work of religious studies occurs in civic and educational spaces. The Living Word brings together leading theologians and religious scholars whose work has shaped not only their fields, but also the communities and conversations around them. These writers explore the passions, methods, and callings that animate their work, underscoring the impact of religious studies and theology in public life. They reflect on how writing, speaking, teaching, and public engagement become acts of faith and service in pursuit of the common good. With contributions from N.T. Wright, Paula Fredericksen, Scot McKnight, and others, The Living Word is a summons for students, scholars, religious leaders and practitioners to speak to the world's most pressing questions with wisdom and conviction. It is an invitation to write and teach with clarity, to embrace intellect and imagination, and to interact meaningfully with the surrounding community and society. These essays call us to bring theology and religious studies to life for the good of all the world.
