Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

When Emily Gillon kills her abusive husband - making it appear to be suicide - she hopes the shotgun blast will free her finally to find the happiness and normalcy she never knew in rural Pierpont, Georgia. Against a canvas of the north Georgia mountains and the ageless beauty of the coastal city of Savannah, Gallica's Thorns is the modern-day story of Emily's quest - a journey laden with innocent love, violent evil, personal tragedy and heart-rending deceit. Beginning a new life in Savannah, Emily ultimately cannot escape her past, particularly her former father-in-law, Treat Gillon, whose all-consuming goal is to prove that she killed his son. Emily's struggles thus include Treat - one of Pierpont's blue bloods and a devil incarnate - his wife, Sarah, who defends herself against Treat's battering as well as the advances of one of his country club buddies, and an undercover detective hired by Treat to send Emily to the electric chair. Stir in a few surprises and Gallica's Thorns is a suspenseful human drama that will keep a reader guessing to the last page.
