"Is this some sort of a scheme?"

When Matt Richards met Megan Pessel last December, it was love at first sight...or at least, it could have been, if either of them had allowed themselves to go there. The trouble is, Matt is busy taking care of his dad at home on Orcas Island, Washington, while Megan is devoted to her career in Portland, Oregon. Plus, Megan's mom is Julie, Matt's good friend and fellow soup group member-awkward! They agree to be responsible and keep things at a "good friends" level. Then Megan is offered an amazing opportunity to work in Italy for a year, while Matt's dad struggles harder with his dementia. It's even more clear that romance is not in the cards for them.Julie and the rest of the "Soup Group Emergency Subcommittee" are having none of this, and hatch a secret plan to get Matt and Megan to give their love a chance. When their scheme goes hilariously awry, will Megan say "Ciao" forever, or will she and Matt find their way to amore?
