Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Step back into the halcyon days of the 1950s, when growing up in Loma Linda, California meant being surrounded by endless orange groves, close-knit neighborhoods, and the freedom of childhood in a small-town community. In I Remember Loma Linda, author Mike Kunert shares a heartfelt memoir of the Inland Empire, capturing what it was like to come of age in Southern California during one of America's most nostalgic eras. Just an hour from the desert, mountains, ocean, Disneyland, and Los Angeles, the Inland Empire offered a childhood setting unlike anywhere else. Most chapters are told in Mike's own voice, drawn from vivid memories of the 1950s and 60s. Others come from friends and neighbors, adding new perspectives to life in Loma Linda. Together, they tell stories of family, faith, and friendship in a community that helped shape generations. Some chapters recount events before his time, carefully researched to preserve the town's local history. Whether you're a native of the Inland Empire, a fan of California history, or simply love reading about small-town America memoirs, this book will transport you back to the golden age of childhood. Rediscover the places, people, and spirit of a time when life was simpler - and see why growing up in Loma Linda left memories that still endure.
