Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

No two counselees are alike. Some are eager to cooperate; others are hesitant, stubborn, confused, critical, indifferent, or simply difficult to understand. And often, the problem that brings a person to counseling is not the only problem the counselor must address. In Types of People, Jay Adams examines the attitudes, habits, and patterns of behavior that can complicate biblical counseling and hinder genuine change. Drawing upon Scripture and decades of counseling experience, Adams helps counselors recognize what may be happening beneath the surface and respond with biblical clarity and wisdom.Along the way, he considers people who are shy, disorganized, stubborn, judgmental, envious, wordy, self-assured, contentious, confused, silent-and many others. His purpose is not merely to classify people, but to help counselors understand them well enough to minister God's Word effectively.Practical, direct, and unmistakably Adams, Types of People will help biblical counselors become more observant, more discerning, and better prepared for the wide variety of people who come seeking help.
