Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

What if words don't simply describe your reality but help create it?Every word you speak, write, read, and think carries meaning. So do the symbols and images that surround you. Together, they shape the stories you tell, the ideas you accept, and the reality through which you experience your life.As a child, you had little choice about the words, symbols, and images that formed your understanding of the world. They were given to you by the family, culture, community, and systems into which you were born. But as an adult, you have a choice. The Art of a Wordsmith explores what becomes possible when you begin to examine language with greater intention. Like an artist applying brushstrokes to canvas, the wordsmith selects and arranges words, symbols, and images to create meaning, communicate ideas, and shape a verbal reality.Drawing from a lifetime of inquiry spanning law, economics, philosophy, mathematics, science, and the nature of human thought, Bill Sechrest invites readers to look beyond the familiar definitions we often take for granted and consider the deeper nature and influence of language itself.A graduate of Stanford University and Southern Methodist University Law School with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Bill co-founded the law firm now known as Winstead PC and practiced there for more than three decades. His lifelong exploration of law, economics, money, the environment, mathematics, physics, and human consciousness ultimately led him to a fundamental question:What is the true nature of the words, symbols, and images through which we understand ourselves and everything that exists? This book is an invitation to explore that question for yourself.
