Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The world is becoming more and more complex: interdependent networks proliferate as well as those who use them; technological revolutions and challenges that involve the entire planet continue to emerge while threats of 'hyper-terrorism' multiply... Who, or what is going to hold power in this increasingly 'thick' world of ours? How will decisions be taken? According to what criteria ? After the era of American dominance, are we entering the era of Asian hegemony ?In this book, François Heisbourg draws an outline of what tomorrow's world may be - a world that will not necessarily be less brutal, but where brutality will have less impact. To understand and address the thickness of that world is the challenge that our societies and those who govern us have to face today.A regular contributor to a variety of TV and radio programs, the author is a well known media figure and a recognized specialist of his field.Heisbourg's is a clearly and cogently argued book on a topic that concerns every one of us.François Heisbourg is chairman of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and of the Centre de politique de sécurité in Geneva and consultant at the Fondation pour la recherche stratégique. He is one of the most established experts on issues of geopolitics and terrorism. Amongst other works, he has published La Fin de l'Occident: l'Amérique, l'Europe, le Moyen Orient (Odile Jacob) and Hyperterrorisme, la nouvelle guerre (Odile Jacob).
