Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In twelfth century France, master craftsman and sculptor Aubertin d'Avalon is shattered by the recent death of his cherished wife, whose likeness he has vowed to immortalise in stone. A monumental task that soon becomes an overwhelming obsession. Haunted by the promise he made to the Knights Templar to draw up the plans for an extraordinary cathedral in Chartres and desperate for news of his sons who left to fight in the Holy Wars, Aubertin sets off on a perilous yet enlightening journey to the Middle East. Through the harshness of the land and the atrocities of war, from amazing discovery to profound revelation, Aubertin renews his faith in life and reopens his heart to love.

The mystical Holy Flame he carries with him upon his return will decide the fate of the cathedral of Chartres and that of Aubertin himself.

This is the enthralling, spiritual initiation of a poignant hero during a time of sacred passion.

Novelist, Bernard Tirtiaux lives in Belgium and is also a master craftsman of stained-glass windows. He is the author of several successful books that have been widely translated.
