Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

This book explores the potential for eschatology to serve as a common ground for both Catholicism and Shī‘a Islam. The volume provides a comprehensive contextualization of contemporary approaches to theologies of religion by presenting a methodological framework and clarifying the concept of "eschatological unity". It further discusses the role of eschatological unity as a unifying theme in theological discourse, suggesting it as a key to examine aspects of unity within Catholic eschatology and the Shī‘ī belief in the Imām Mahdī. Building on the Wings of Unity project, this book ultimately reevaluates the shared experiences of Catholicism and Shī‘a Islam, highlighting the potential for eschatological unity as a point of theological convergence. This volume offers an insightful and thought-provoking analysis for scholars interested in interfaith dialogue, eschatology, and theologies of religion.
