Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

When it comes to canaries, it can be difficult to choose between birds of very different kinds: for example, the Harzer Edelroller is known for the excellent quality of its birdsong at a moderate volume; colour races will astound you with their wonderful plumage: green, yellow and spotted, red, orange, brown, slate-grey, white and endless combinations and nuances of these; and finally, mention should be made of the so-called ‘form’ canaries, which, in many cases, have been domesticated for centuries. Some of them have cute crests or delicately waved feathers, and almost all of them are profiled in this book, with colour photographs. The book goes into considerable detail on aspects of daily care, nutrition, taming, health maintenance and breeding, as well as giving interesting facts on the history of canaries in human care.
