Presented as part of Paul F. Millet’s show 28 seconds Paradigma at the ADBK Karlsruhe in July 2024, this 169-page book is the result of a close collaboration between the artist and photographer and graphic designer Julian Jaffé. They photographed every transport box from the artist’s archive. This box portrait theme came from this storage situation. The artist, as an object maker, had to think of how the works could be moved and lifted without his consultation. The cartesian form determines the formal language, the parallelepide: six faces. This six-faced-form can be built in all flattened materials, it has to be robust, and measurable fast; that’s what really matters. These boxes are a state of mind, ready to be sent or stored for the next twenty years of dust.
