Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Amara notices how quickly other children seem to do things.Freya reads a difficult word before she can.Lyra finishes her math first.Other flowers begin to bloom while Amara's little bud stays tightly closed.Soon, Amara begins to wonder:Why does everything take me longer? With encouragement from her family and Ms. Pilar, Amara begins to discover that needing more time does not mean she cannot learn. Sometimes she needs another way. Sometimes she needs practice. And sometimes asking for help is part of growing, too. Then something unexpected happens. When her classmates struggle in the school garden, Amara realizes there is something she already knows how to do-and something valuable she can teach them.Little by little, reading becomes easier. Math begins to make sense. Her flower keeps growing. And Amara learns to notice progress instead of measuring herself against everyone else.Growing My Own Way is a warm illustrated story about self-confidence, comparison, perseverance, asking for help, learning at your own pace, and discovering that every child has strengths worth sharing.Part of The Little Lights Collection, this encouraging read-aloud story is created for children ages 4-8 and the parents, caregivers, and teachers who walk beside them.
