Our analysis showed that the newspaper *L'Avenir* devoted an editorial and a brief article to this issue in its first edition of December 23, 2010. Noting that this news story was beginning to generate significant public discussion, the paper devoted two more sections to it in the December 24, 2010, edition. This time, the coverage was more substantial: instead of a brief and an editorial, it featured an editorial and a news item placed on the front page. As for the editorial in this edition, it was simply a reprint of the previous day's editorial. As we noted later in this study, the *L'Avenir* journalist pursued a specific objective throughout his coverage of the decision to suspend the DRC from AGOA: to convince readers that the DRC is a victim of those who seek to hinder its progress. In none of the articles in L'Avenir is there any mention of a government statement aimed at providing accurate information to the U.S. government in order to be reinstated into the program, whereas the December 23 edition suggests that Barack Obama was mistaken in making this decision. L'Avenir also noted that AGOA.
