Emerging technologies are rapidly transforming the structure, operation, and management of the financial system, changing traditional models of intermediation, service delivery, risk management, and financial reporting. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, blockchain, asset tokenization, cloud computing, robotic process automation, digital payments, and quantum computing are becoming increasingly important within the global financial ecosystem. The objective of this article is to analyze, through a narrative review of scientific literature and specialized documents, the main emerging technologies applied to finance, along with their applications, benefits, risks, and regulatory challenges. The review shows that these technologies can improve operational efficiency, reduce transaction costs, strengthen credit assessment, improve fraud detection, optimize investment management, strengthen control systems, and expand access to financial services. However, they also generate new risks.
