Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In Algeria, soil erosion in watersheds is a major problem. Indeed, environmental degradation has very harmful consequences for land productivity and the volume of water stored in dams and reservoirs, not to mention its impact on water quality. Despite efforts to combat erosion-such as afforestation, reforestation, and the construction of erosion control or diversion berms-the degradation of vegetation and soil continues. The Oued Charef watershed is no exception. This watershed, part of the larger Seybouse watershed, is triangular in shape and covers an area of 1,776 km².This book examines the quantitative estimation of sediment based on data and seasonal values obtained from the National Water Resources Agency to estimate the total amount of sediment and the specific degradation of the watershed, with the aim of proposing the necessary measures for its protection.
