Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

This book, titled "Forest Geology and Meteorology," serves as a comprehensive resource that highlights the progress made in forest meteorology and climate change research worldwide. Its main objective is to enhance our understanding of the exchange processes of momentum, matter, and energy between forests and the atmosphere, as well as the impact of various environmental conditions on these processes. The book places great importance on studying the dynamics of water and carbon dioxide within forest ecosystems, and the interaction between forests and other greenhouse gases and airborne pollutants. Furthermore, it also considers underlying ecophysiological processes such as stomatal dynamics, photosynthesis, and plant hydraulics. One of the book's focal points is the examination of extreme events and the evaluation of climate change effects on forest ecology and growth. Through a compilation of innovative studies, approaches, data sprocessing techniques, and modeling tools, the book aims to improve our understanding of the intricate relationship between forests, meteorology, and climate. Moreover, it emphasizes the practical applications of this knowledge to support operational decision-making processes.
