Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Born in 1869 into one of Imperial Russia's most distinguished aristocratic families, Alexandra Ilarionovna Shuvalova lived through the final decades of the Romanov Empire. Raised within the circles of the Imperial Court during the reigns of Alexander II and Alexander III, she grew up alongside Tsarevich Nicholas, the future Nicholas II, gaining a unique insight into a world destined to disappear. In these memoirs, Alexandra recounts the daily life of the Russian aristocracy, the traditions of the Imperial Court, and the values that shaped an era of splendour, privilege, and duty. Through her personal experiences, readers are taken behind the scenes of a society that stood at the height of its power just before being swept away by revolution.More than a historical document, this is the story of a woman who witnessed one of the most dramatic transformations in modern history. Rich in personal recollections and historical insight, these memoirs offer a rare and intimate portrait of Imperial Russia, the Romanov family, and a vanished world.
