Multilingual corpora have been used in cross-linguistic research for 30 years. New technologies have dramatically changed the processes of compilation and exploitation of tailor-made corpora for linguistic research. The studies included in this volume showcase current cross-linguistic research utilising parallel, comparable, and novel types of corpora beyond this traditional two-fold distinction. The first part of the volume draws on specialised comparable corpora of newspaper opinion articles, social media texts, and economic discourse.
