Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In The Mosaic History of the Creation of the World, Thomas Wood analyzes the biblical creation account, emphasizing its theological and moral implications. He attempts to reconcile the biblical text with the scientific knowledge of the time, particularly natural philosophy and early forms of geology. The book reflects the intellectual efforts of the period to harmonize faith and reason, with Wood offering a defense of the literal interpretation of the Genesis creation story.Wood explores each of the seven days of creation described in Genesis, interpreting the events-such as the creation of light, the formation of the heavens and earth, the emergence of plant and animal life, and the creation of humanity. He frequently references contemporary debates about the age of the Earth, the nature of matter, and the structure of the cosmos. The book addresses the growing influence of Enlightenment thought, particularly challenges posed by early scientific discoveries that questioned traditional biblical chronology.
