Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Abaddon: The Angel of the Abyss - The Cruel Side of LoveLong before Abaddon was called a demon, he was a word - the Hebrew abad, meaning to perish, to be lost, to be destroyed. This book traces that word from Job, Proverbs, and Psalms through the Dead Sea Scrolls to Revelation 9, where it becomes a name: the angel of the abyss, crowned king of the locusts, called Apollyon in Greek - the Destroyer.Abaddon: The Angel of the Abyss - The Cruel Side of Love does not settle for the easy answer that Abaddon is simply a fallen angel or a stock demon. It separates him from Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna, examines his uneasy kinship with Satan, the Watchers, Belial, Samael, and Azazel, and reads him instead as an authorized force - destruction with a mandate, not destruction run wild.Along the way, the book turns to what the abyss means for the reader: grief, loss, collapse, and the impermanence any life eventually has to face. It treats necessary dismantling - the parts of a life that have to fall before something else can stand - as a subject worth taking seriously, not softening. For readers of biblical demonology, apocalyptic literature, and esoteric study, this is a disciplined, unflinching look at the angel whose name means ruin.
