Seeking help from a friend immersed in the crime world would wreck her marriage to the enigmatic Conrad. Is Carina strong enough to choose between being a great criminal or a great counterspy, and between two men – the sophisticated and amoral Apollodorus or the upright Praetorian commander Conradus, her children’s father.
