The Cat Who Had No Name - A True StoryA big black cat with no name wanders the streets of a small French village. Black as a starless night, he walks with his head held high, like a king crossing his kingdom - though he has neither kingdom nor throne. No one calls him. No one waits for him. Around him, doors are closed, and he is alone.Hunger, fear, and the quiet dignity of survival mark his days, until a kind woman in a garden full of mint and lavender gives him his first name: Whiskers. Two children, Axel and Nina, welcome him with shared kibble and gentle hands. A beagle named Pogo becomes his first friend. Slowly, step by step, act of kindness by act of kindness, Whiskers learns what it means to be noticed, to be waited for, to belong. But not everyone welcomes him, and one frightening night on the run leads him, wounded, into the branches of an apple tree - and finally, into the arms of Estrella, who promises to keep him forever. There, in a home filled with warmth, a soft blanket, and a little blue house of his own, Whiskers becomes Mousy - the cat who survived the streets to become, at last, the King of Cushions.Inspired by the true story of a real abandoned cat, this tender illustrated tale speaks to readers of all ages about resilience, kindness, and the quiet miracle of finding a home. With gentle verse-like prose and delicate illustrations, it is a story about what it means to belong - and about the humans, children, and animals whose small acts of compassion can change a life.
