Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

To become a Slayer, Xassei must kill. But the world beyond the mountains is not the one he was taught to fear.At twenty-nine, Xassei leaves Dorn-Khal for the first time-the ancient dwarf stronghold hidden in the Impassable Mountains. His mission is governed by a tradition no one dares to question: cross Iron Pass, face men, elves, and dragons, and return with proof of his victories. Only then can he earn the title of Slayer.Accompanying him is Zaui, an unlikely red-bearded Witness-more skilled with Fert than with weapons-tasked with seeing everything and turning Xassei's journey into a story worth remembering.Yet in the Vhal Plains, deep within the Hollow Lands, and among the chains of the dragons, Xassei begins to uncover a truth vastly different from the one preserved in the ancient halls of Dorn-Khal.Men are not merely enemies. Elves have not always been monsters. And dragons may not be the beasts the dwarves have learned to hate.Behind the wars that have divided the peoples of Avarra for millennia lies an even older mystery: that of the Wizards from Beyond the Sea, the legendary Golden Ships, and a magic capable of granting great power, but always at a price. And far away, beneath the black waters of Lake Susar, something has been waiting for thousands of years.Down the River from Lake Susar is the first book in The Avarra Saga, an adventure fantasy set in a world of dwarves, elves, dragons, and ancient secrets, where the boundary between monster and hero often depends on who is telling the story.
