Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

THE HOUSE AT BLACK LAKEA story for long autumn eveningsWhen Andrei Vetsel inherits a remote house beside a black, perfectly still lake, he arrives with little more than a rucksack, a handful of instructions, and the intention of staying for a while. The house is old. The forest is deep. The lake seems to have no end.Andrei expects solitude. What he does not expect is how quickly the simple rhythm of the place begins to change him: the morning fire, tea with thyme, walks along the shore, splitting wood, listening to rain against the window. Then, on the fifth day, a thin grey cat appears. He names her Maryanna. On the eighth day, he discovers a wooden box hidden beneath the bunk.Inside are decades of his late aunt's diaries - and a hand-drawn diagram showing a barely visible path leading north through the forest to a mysterious stone in a clearing. His aunt wrote about the stone only a few times. She once sat beside it and wept without knowing why. Years later, she returned and discovered something beneath it. She chose not to look. Now Andrei follows the same path. What he finds is not a secret waiting to be solved, but something quieter and stranger: traces left by people who came before him, marks counted over years, and a place that seems to remember those who visit.THE HOUSE AT BLACK LAKE is a gentle, atmospheric story about solitude, memory, grief, nature, and the unexpected ways a place can become home. For readers who enjoy quiet literary fiction, atmospheric mysteries, reflective stories, and autumn tales filled with forests, lakes, fireplaces, cats, and long evenings.Sometimes nothing remarkable needs to happen.Sometimes simply being there is enough.
