Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

In January of a year nobody will name, every man on Earth woke up as a woman. It lasted thirty-one days. Then the women became men. Then every woman became beautiful, and then everybody did, and then nobody was.Nobody explained it. Nobody asked permission. And everybody remembered everything. Two auditors are conducting a nonconformity investigation into the species Homo sapiens. The reported finding is the most ordinary one in auditing: the documented values do not match the observed practice. The criteria are humanity's own - its constitutions, its scriptures, its equal opportunity statements, its vows. Nothing has been imposed from outside. The species is simply being held to what it wrote down about itself.Five test phases. One variable each. Thirty days to find out whether the declared practice survives contact with the change.A chief of orthopaedic surgery walks into his own operating theatre and is told, slowly, with the hand gestures, how his own published technique works.A night delivery driver crosses an unlit car park at two in the morning and nothing happens - and sits in the cab afterwards weeping, because she has just found out the weight of something she has carried since she was twelve.A woman who owns three beauty salons becomes beautiful for the first time in her life, on the same morning her livelihood becomes worthless, with nobody she can tell either half of it to.A nineteen-year-old who has never once been chosen by anybody works out, in about four seconds, that it was never his face. And an eighty-two-year-old outside Rotterdam has been through all of this already - alone, slowly, in 2006 - and would like, if nobody minds, to talk about the soup. The Findings is a comedy about beauty, worth, and the machinery underneath both, written by a certified lead auditor who has spent seventeen years in rooms where somebody explains, courteously and at length, why the documented procedure and the thing actually happening on the floor are not in conflict.Five phases. Four billion witnesses. One number that refuses to move.
