What did Jesus mean when He said, "I will build my church"?

The Church is far more than a building, a denomination, or a weekly gathering. She is the Body of Christ, the household of God, the temple of the Holy Spirit, and the Bride of the Lamb.

In THE CHURCH, Volume Four of The Christ-Centered Biblical Theology Library, Dr. Raymond E. Smith takes the reader through Scripture to discover what Jesus intended His Church to be.

Written especially for believers who want deep biblical truth explained in clear, understandable language, this book explores:

- The Church in the eternal purpose of God- Christ as the Foundation, Cornerstone, and Head- Jew and Gentile becoming one new man in Christ- The Church as the Body, House, and Temple of God- The power and ministry of the Holy Spirit- Worship in spirit and in truth- Biblical leadership and the ministry of every believer- Spiritual gifts without spiritual pride- Holiness, discipline, restoration, and unity- Compassion joined with wisdom and discernment- The Church's mission and witness in the world- Spiritual warfare, deception, and false teaching- The persecuted Church- Christ's messages to the seven churches- The Church as the Bride of Christ>This is not merely a book about how churches operate. It is a call to understand what Jesus intended His Church to be.

Christ purchased His Church with His blood. He fills her with His Spirit. He sends her into the world with His Gospel. He is preparing her as His Bride. And He has promised to come again.

Until He comes-BE THE CHURCH.
